Dear dental community,
You have probably read the article published on March 21, 2025, in La Presse presenting the business practices of one of our competitors in the dental field, Dentitek. Software provider - Dentists denounce unreasonable cost increase.
The publication of this press release leads us to share with you our point of view on the situation of dental software suppliers in Quebec.
For more than 30 years now, Progident has been working to establish quality, long-term relationships with its dental customers. It is with respect for these relationships, while of course targeting the profitability of our activities, that we have always guided our strategic decisions.
Unfortunately, the dental software sector in Quebec has frequently fallen victim to a “Wild West” culture, where business ethics for the dental community have not always been a priority.
We therefore take advantage of the aforementioned article to reiterate that our experience of certain questionable behaviors in the field was not unfounded and simply opportunistic.
For perspective, in comparison with the prices presented in the article, our prices have increased by an average of less than 2% annually over the past 20 years.
With a highly competitive computerized management solution that offers all the features needed to optimize the management of dental clinics in Quebec (statistics, paperless management, sending reminders and appointment confirmations, etc.), Progident is more than ever positioned as a first-rate software provider for your dental clinic.
Dentitek is now owned by Valsoft, a Montreal-based firm that operates under a model of acquiring and operating software firms in various sectors of activity. Valsoft is not the only company using this type of vertical acquisition model to take a controlling position in a given sector of activity and then be able to impose its vision on a target market.
On the other hand, in the context of the current economic tensions we are experiencing with the US, we believe it is important to point out that Valsoft has received major US investments in the past, such as from the American firm Viking. When a company receives considerable amounts of US funds, can the company still be considered under Quebec control?
As it is more important than ever to ensure that we invest directly in our economy together, Progident certainly represents an option not only for quality dental management software, but also a strategic purchasing decision to nurture our Quebec and Canadian economic fabric, ultimately a beneficial decision for all dental clinics in Quebec.
Progident has always been a recognized software program in the Quebec market and is proudly independent and at the service of the dental community.
We remain at your service and will be happy to receive any comments or questions that you can send us by email.
