Here is a brief overview of the new features that are available with the latest version of  Progident/Clinic.

Progident/Clinic operates using the powerful Smigg application platform. The new features that have been added are likely to significantly bolster management operations. Visit the Smigg page for more information.



  • The integration of a new ''Return to current day'' option to the agenda's toolbar will accelerate the navigation.
  • The customization of the information displayed on the agenda has been enhanced, allowing the application of global customization to all users. A definition by agenda is also possible when you wish to adjust the visual, for example, by department or user group. 
  • Three display sections can be configurated in the agenda:
    1- The display in the time slot of the appointment as such. The configured information is then also printed and transferred to "Google Calendar" if you exploit this integration.
    2- The display in the status bar (at the bottom of the software) of the agenda.
    3- The information contained in the tooltip displayed when the cursor of your mouse hovers over an appointment.
    A new "Displayed / Printed Information" tab, present in the global management settings, as well as in the "Agenda Book" file, allows you to check the information displayed in the three sections mentioned above.
  • A new time and patient management console of the "Kanban" type has been integrated into the software. This console provides, at all times, a global vision of the clinic in terms of the path for each patient and professional during the active day. The console displays the cumulative running time associated with each step of the patient's path as an operational cue. Fully integrated into the agenda, any changes made in the console (drag and drop) is automatically reflected in the agenda, and all the visual indicators of the agenda are displayed on the console.
  • The address of the file associated with the appointment is now listed in the "Location" field of the Google Calendar when synchronization is enabled. This enhancement allows you to quickly geo-locate the location of your appointment from your phone or mobile device.
  • The agenda now allows you to apply a visual attribute (alert) to an appointment based on a time-frame before or after the date and time of its beginning. This configuration is performed by appointment status in order to give you all the necessary precision, a notion usually associated with each step of the management and treatment of a patient.
    If the visual alert is configured to give notification before the beginning of an appointment (negative delay), it can act as a reminder for an upcoming appointment. It can also act as a notification when an appointment is not confirmed by a patient twenty-four hours before it.
    When the visual alert is instead configured to give notification after the appointment has begun (positive delay), it acts as an indicator of an exceeding time. For example, when a patient is waiting for more than 15 minutes in the waiting room or when a professional is waiting in a given room.
    If necessary, the visual alert may also be accompanied by an audible alert.
  • Two new basic appointment statuses have been integrated into the software in order to precise the breakdown of each step for patient management; ''Ready for examination'', which can be used to notice a professional that they are requested in a given room, and ''Ready for billing'', that can be used to notify that a patient is in transit towards the reception to effectuate a payment.
  • The option for the agenda management according to the concept of booking appointments to a ''fixed range'' has been enhanced to support three modes; ''Complete in the superior range with message'', ''Complete in the superior range without a message'', and ''Automatically block and complete to a fixed range only''.
  • As a follow-up to the introduction of a new feature allowing professional notes, the agenda now provides a visual indicator for the clinical notes associated with an appointment. This indicator can take three states: ''No signature present in the notes'', ''Notes partially signed'', that can be used in a context of multiple resources, and ''Complete professional signatures''.
  • A quick and visual analysis of the agenda now makes it possible to identify the notes and signatures to be completed.
  • With the introduction of the "Kanban" console, a new "Status History" option now allows you to view the status changes by which an appointment has been made, in addition to being able to obtain the actual duration associated with each step.
  • The software now integrates with Chronométriq's interactive reception terminal. This self-service medical terminal targets information for each patient and makes it easy to book appointments. A client can identify himself and confirm his arrival as soon as he enters the clinic without having to go through the reception. The software's agenda is then automatically updated to indicate the presence of the patient in the waiting room.
    Note that this update and the automatic change of appointment status automatically triggers a timer counter since the arrival of the patient to improve your clinical-administrative processes.
    If necessary, a visual alarm can also be activated by configuring the desired time delay.

Target Groups and Communication

  • It is now possible to identify the preferred communication methods of your patients in their file in order to reach them more easily. In the presence of several available communication coordinates, it is also possible to establish an order of preference.
  • The Smigg platform now offers integration with auto-dial platforms such as Skype and C3X.
  • It is now possible to launch a phone call from any field with the "Phone number" type. Simply click on the "Telephone Handset" icon displayed on the right of the field. Note that this icon appears only if the integration is enabled.
  • The sending of emails now supports the Office 365TM configuration.


  • In the presence of inventory management, the billing in Progident/Clinic can be configured to validate the available quantity of an item and to display a message when insufficient.
  • You can now secure the management and billing by branch. To activate this operating mode, use the general ''Secure management by clinic'' tab in the new management parameter. The security referred to here is translated into a basic data filtration (a group of acts, treatment plan, etc.) used, for example, in the billing stage and which is initially defined by branch. The software then only displays the valid procedures according to the branch associated with the current user.
  • In order to facilitate navigation and use of the billing wizard, the menus and options have been improved and visually simplified.
  • The conciliation function allows the support of Dentaide automated payment reversals to allow Dentaide to pay for the cheques that it issues, which prevents your clinic from having to issue one.
  • The software supports the RAMQ and SYRA platforms for the transmission of claims.

Treatment Plan

  • The "From" and "To" fields of the display period of the dental chart are now directly associated with appointment dates so that you can quickly see the diagnosis and treatment plan of a visit. You can also see at a glance the treatments done at a particular appointment.
  • The treatment plans work window has been completely redesigned, among other things, to integrate a new interface for managing planned visits. For example, the header and the detail of a treatment plan are now displayed simultaneously, while the scheduling of visits resulting from the treatment plan, in other words, the scheduling of future appointments, will never be easier, thanks to the drag-and-drop approach of the procedures planned for each visit. The same drag-and-drop approach allows you to reorder the sequence of the defined visits. An interface of amazing efficiency; to try it is to adopt it! If you do not use the concept of "Scheduled Visits", you will still be able to operate without the presence of this section in the display.

Electronic Health Record (Patient Record)

  • You have access to more than 145 information fields in the "Patient" file and more than 100 information fields in the "Appointment" file.
  • The first two insurers defined in the "Insurer" option of a patient's file are now part of an "Insurer" tab in the ''Patient'' file to accelerate the consultation in a simple management context.
  • The pending interventions window can now operate in "synchronous" mode with the "Patient" form. In synchronized mode, the displayed "Patient" file follows the file associated with the consulted intervention.
    Used, among other things, for the management of reminders and patient follow-up, this configuration makes it possible to have the complete information of the patient displayed simultaneously with the active file. This configuration can be saved and activated by a working environment.
  • A new "Family" section has been added to the "Patient" file to display the family links of the current patient. Besides quickly allowing the addition and removal of a family link, any file related to this "Family" area can be directly consulted.

Document Management and Imaging

  • The software allows the support of government identifiers (health insurance number in Quebec) for the other provinces of Canada. The validation of these government identifiers entry has also been improved.
  • Digital document management now offers a new "Ascending" or "Descending" sorting option for a quick reclassification, if needed.
  • A new analysis report of the referred patients by reference source has been introduced to the software.
  • The new versions of the ACDQ and ODQ interactive medical history forms are now included in the software.
  • The addition of an integration bridge with "Carestream Dental" imaging software is now available.
  • The "Resource" and "Responsible" columns have been added to the "Treatment" section of the odontogram (dental chart) to speed up data entry.
  • Designed and dedicated to the administrative reception desk, a new "Reception Console" option is now available. This option presents an integrated and simplified visual of the information for the management of each patient. This console has been specifically designed for clinics that want to operate in a simple and efficient interface and whose management context is not complex.
  • The professional note writing wizard has been improved on the aspects of writing, consulting and signing.
  • The interactive waiting list of the software has been greatly improved. It now uses an optimization algorithm to present the suggested patients as a replacement when releasing a time slot on the agenda. In the presence of several possibilities of replacement, the list of displayed patients is presented with a decreasing gradient of colour according to the degree of compatibility with the appointment.
  • Two new management reports labelled "Detailed" and "Summary" have been integrated into the "Report > Patient > Insurance" menu to allow analysis of patients with insurance or a specific insurer.
  • On the basis of the new possibilities of the "Kanban" console, a new report of statistics on intervention times per resource has been introduced in the "Report > Analysis" menu. In addition to providing the actual response times by treatment category, this report also presents two key pieces of information:
  • In the presence of the exploitation of the concept of planned visits, the report makes it possible to compare the time planned for a visit at the time of the initial treatment plan versus the real final time of the treatment.
  • In the presence of billing, the report can also provide an average billing hourly rate per treatment category.
  • Progident/Clinic now allows integration with Omnimed for sharing and synchronizing a "Patient" database.
  • The report generator interface has been completely redesigned to speed up, simplify and improve the visualization and production of reports. The possible manipulations are now centralized in a single work screen.

Web Interface

  • The Patient Web Portal has been completely revised graphically.
  • A patient can now complete their medical history questionnaire before visiting the clinic by using the patient web portal. The produced form is then automatically integrated into his document management at the clinic. When the patient arrives for his appointment, the resource at the reception only has to validate the information with the patient and make them digitally sign their form; a complete digital integration!
